The Garuda is a legendary bird or bird-like creature in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythology. He is variously the vehicle mount (vahana) of the Hindu god Vishnu, a dharma-protector and Astasena in Buddhism, and the Yaksha of the Jain Tirthankara Shantinatha. Garuda is described as the king of birds and a kite-like figure. He is shown either in zoomorphic form (giant bird with partially open wings) or an anthropomorphic form (man with wings and some bird features). Garuda is generally a protector with power to swiftly go anywhere, ever watchful and an enemy of the serpent. He is also known as Tarkshya and Vynateya.

"... Ehh, why did I come in from the window? Now's not the time to be asking that! We're in a state of emergency—!!"
"You see, there's a sealing spot within Yggdrasil where we had the 'Divine Beast Garuda' slumber, but it looks like the beasts living there have gone wild recently."
"The sealing spot, you see, had strong winds that would blow ceaselessly since long ago."
"Because of that, the monsters that scatter spores like Myconids and Alraune haven't been able to infest it, and griffins and other beastmen who like the wind live there, but..."
"Just so recently, a bunch that should be stuck in the sealing spot have left their dwellings and are starting to run amok around the villages."
"So our able marksmen went to investigate the sealing spot, but——then they saw what appears to be the shadow of a giant bird there."
"Of course, they're Yggdrasil marksmen, you see, and they already sensed the danger they were in, so they fired their bows straightaway, but..."
"But the winds created by the big bird were much too strong and made it extremely difficult for them to steady their bows."
"And then they were swept away in a light created from its giant shadow and before they knew it, they found themselves transported to the base of Yggdrasil."
"I guess you're more knowledgeable regarding this light, right? I think it might be similar to the 'Lord's Authority' of the other divine beasts."
"There's legends of a giant divine bird that creates great winds. And the light that transports those hostile to it in an instant..."
"Meaning, you see, while it's unbelievable, if we're to believe the reports of the marksmen, then the only thought that springs to mind is that 'Divine Beast Garuda' has been resurrected."
"I beg of you, Prince. All of us from Yggdrasil can't hope to repel that thing. If you were to lend us your strength, then..."
"... R, really!? Thanks, Prince! I can't tha—ank you enough!!"
"... But if our opponent is really Garuda, then we're walking into a battle we can't take lightly. No matter how great a man you are, Prince, make sure you don't underestimate it, OK?"
"According to the accounts of the marksmen that went on the expedition, they said it was difficult for them to fire their arrows straight within the 'Strong Winds' created while that thing's flapping its wings in the sky."
"For example, I believe it would be difficult for even those versed in Feng Shui to read when those winds are gonna end. The only option left to us to stop those winds is to do something about the bird itself..."
"Also, many griffins also live over there. So keep a sharp eye out for any sudden attacks from the griffins riding the winds. It would be best to set up countermeasures against flying enemies."
"If you want to fire directly at enemies within those strong winds, then I believe the strength of those who have experience firing in bad weather will be indispensable. Of course, You can rely on the strength of us rangers as well, OK?"
"Well then, Prince, the enemy is that 'Divine Beast Garuda'. It doesn't matter how careful you are, it won't be enough, so be very, very careful!"
Rovinia: "I heard tale that the two-consecutive slashes released from Garuda's twin blades hides tremendous force. Everyone, whatever you do, be careful!!"
"... Entering through the window? Don't mind that, don't mind tha—at. More importantly! I suppose you're exhausted from your battle—?"
"Fufu—n, glad to hear~♪ Yggdrasil had all sorts of problems after you left, but the beasts of the forest have also finally settled down."
"The elder said the monsters going wild like they've been doing recently isn't just due to the 'disaster' but also a result of Garuda's revival."
"We still can't be careless, but since there's been few rampaging beasts around the villages, I guess things'll be peaceful for the time being~♪"
"By the way, today, you see. *rustle, rustle*... Tada~♪ This is a token of our tha~anks for rushing to Yggdrasil in its time of need~♪"
"We gathered Yggdrasil's craftsmen, you see, and made a robe from Garuda's feathers. Just wearing it will make you feel as if you have the power to create wind, see?"
"Since the power of the divine beast is imbued in it, if it's something like a single person, then these robes alone are enough to make it so you can fly through the sky."
"While it's regrettable, we were only able to prepare enough for no more than one person, but since it's you, I don't doubt in my mind you'll put it to good use. How about it, will you accept this gift from everyone?"
"... Mmfufu~♪ Yosh, yosh, let me see you in it later, OK~♪"
"When you want to use Garuda's robe, then be sure to change your title to 'Divine Bird Slaying Hunter". Make sure you don't forget, OK—?"
"Well then, Prince, you were a great help, I mean that! Thank you~♪"
